At the bar, he takes a chance.
He tells the beautiful girl giving him beer that he’d like to rescue her from ‘all this’.
“You’d like to rescue me?”
“Yeah.”
“I remind you of a part of yourself you feel you should save. Save that.”
“How would you know this?”
“You told me last time.”

Unfortunately for the good Samaritan, she, unlike blog, has a memory. Behind the barmaid witticism is a message completely lost on the lad: the compulsion to ‘save’ others is borne out of desperation with one’s own plight.
Great eye, Tom – the observer has become the act.
Sometimes others having a memory is a good thing though…..as I think back to a certain bartender in PB asking me on Sunday if I would like my VISA card back from being there 2 days earlier…..
